The Hartford Huskies wrestling team recently participated in the Individual Wrestling Districts, showcasing their prowess on the mat. The Huskies have five regional qualifiers.
Leading the charge was Roman Rodarte, who placed 2nd at 120 lbs. Following closely, Alex Saldana and Breaden Birkhead placed 3rd at 126 lbs and 144 lbs respectively. The Brady Rice and Linken Birkhead secured 4th place finishes at 113 lbs and 165 lbs.
The focus now shifts to the upcoming Team Regionals, where the Huskies will face Dowagiac in the first round at Hopkins High School. The competition is set to kick off at 6:00 pm.
For the individual regional qualifiers, the stakes are high as they prepare to battle it out on Saturday at Constantine. Success at this stage opens the door to the ultimate goal – the opportunity to compete at the State level at Ford Field.
Not to be overlooked, the girl's wrestling team will also be in action, with their regionals scheduled for Sunday at Gull Lake.
If you are not participating this Wednesday or Saturday, please turn in your wrestling uniform and headgear to Coach Nilson.
